Push Reminders
Dose-time alerts in the right language, on every device.
Medication reminders are only useful if they reach the right person at the right time in a language they immediately understand. KampongKares uses web push — the same technology behind calendar and news alerts — to send reminders directly to every caregiver's browser, on any device, without requiring a separate app download.
Reminders are composed in the elder's preferred language. If a grandparent's record is set to Tamil, every dose reminder for that grandparent arrives in தமிழ். This removes the cognitive load of translating a reminder under time pressure, and reduces the risk of the elder misunderstanding which medication is due.
Because KampongKares uses web push rather than WhatsApp or SMS, there are no per-message costs, no phone number requirements, and no dependency on a third-party messaging platform. Any modern browser on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop — can receive push notifications after a one-time permission grant.
The reminder cron runs every 15 minutes and materialises upcoming dose times from each medication's schedule. Doses are generated up to 7 days in advance so that reminders are always ready to dispatch even if the server is briefly unavailable.
